Writers Meetings
The aim of the society is to draw together all those interested in writing in all its various forms, promote and encourage writers’ knowledge of the art of writing and literature, and, through workshops and competitions, help aspiring writers. New writers are welcome.
Our Ethos:
The Society shall be non-sectarian, non-party-political and gender inclusive. All members will have the same rights.
We welcome writers of any genre to join us. If you would like to come along to one of our meetings and experience our community you can do so, before becoming an ongoing member.

GENERAL MEETING FORMAT
Group members who have written to the monthly theme, set at the previous meeting, read their work to the group. Group members are encouraged to comment positively on each other's compositions. It is not compulsory to share or comment.
The group enjoys morning tea using the communal tea and coffee-making facilities. One of the group members provides a sweet treat for everyone to share each month, by prior arrangement.
A prearranged guest writer may present some of their original work and may discuss their process or run a short writing workshop. After the workshop, group members may read any resulting work, if they choose.
To conclude the meeting, a theme is set for the following month's meeting. Homework includes writing to the theme to share at the next meeting and is not compulsory.
